I'm just your average, everyday, married, thirty-something, right wing, computer programming, 2 dog-having, righteous dude in the Southlands. I love to spend time with my wife and dogs, love electrinic gizmos, watch old school sci-fi & still manage to play some soccer on the weekends. I'm a progressive geek, if you would.

Too many thoughts to be cohierant

Too much buzzing in my brain right now to make too much sense....so here's sort of a top 5 list for today:

Number 5 - Just read about a new study. Seems that athletes that wear red win more than any other color. Very intersting, especially since we just changed our soccer jerseys ove to red... hmmmmmm

Number 4 - I'm actually getting pretty amped about the next-gen video game platforms. Hearing great things about the new PS3, but it's price point is being speculated at $465 :/ start saving now. The new Xbox360 looks pretty impressive as well.

Number 3 - I'm so fricking tired, I just want to go to sleep 10 minutes ago.

Number 2 - This shitty new NeoNazi 'Sober.q' virus is driving me nuts. I am getting hundreds of hate mongering spam email in GERMAN of all things. Please STOP THE MADNESS!

and finally....

Patience young one! For the Jedi it is time to see ep3 too....

I CAN'T WAIT! I am a nervous wreck about seeing the new Star Wars movie tomorrow night. If you haven't heard anything about this - you need to be thrown into a trash compactor. This is the one that we have all been waiting for since 1983 folks. George has outdone himself. Ebert - 2 thumbs up. New York Times - 5 stars. I've got a proverbial Lightsaber in my pants to go see this one. Been geeking out for the last week. I even bought a special "Sith Happens" tshirt to wear tomorrow night. I'd go tonight, but couldn't get a ticket to the 12:01 show - see also #3.

BOI-OI-OI-NNNNNGGGGGG!

Going to New Orleans....

Wow, it's been a crazy week. Meetings, Proposals, deadlines - you name it. Today I'm working a full day and then my wife and I are driving to New Orleans for my baby cousin's wedding tomorrow night.

I keep telling myself that she's not that old. Better yet, I keep telling MYSELF that I'm not that old :) One of the perks about this trip is that I finally get to check out my sister's new boyfriend. I already love the guy sight unseen, and I think that we're going to get along great!

Back to work...more later.

The Waiting is the Hardest Part

Tom Petty had it said best about the waiting. As you can see, I haven't had a lot of time to update Mr. Blog lately. We've been working on a site proposal for a pretty decent sized client here at the work.

So our proposal is done, some killer stuff I might add, but now I get to print out 12 copies of 31 pages each. WHOO HOO!!!

More to come as I wait......

In a related story....

Quite a fine Star Wars fan film. I downloaded the DVD earlier this week. The acting is awful at times, but the graphics and space fights are pretty good for a couple of average Joes.

I give it a 4 of 5 Star Destroyer rating

Yoda, you seek Yoda!

From my Mom's cousin's blog....

Politickal: "Whining About Star Wars
Just as a change of pace, I found on Drudge a link to a BBC news site that whines, New Star Wars movie 'a bloodbath'. Rated PG-13, and earns ever minute of the rating. Sounds like a great story to me. But the guardians of our sensibilities seem unable to allow the tender among us to view life, even movie life, in really human terms.

Friends, this may come as a shock, but there really is something called 'evil' in the world, even as there is also something called 'good'. No matter how much the bleeding hearts try to pretend otherwise, both good and evil exist and have their influence felt in our lives and around the world.

So I applaud what George Lucas said here...

Lucas said he was getting 'a lot of flak' from parents concerned about the film's US rating. 'A lot of people saying how can you do this? My children love these movies. Why can you not let them go see it?' he said. 'But I have to tell a story. I'm not making these, oddly enough, to be giant, successful blockbusters. I'm making them because I'm telling a story, and I have to tell the story I intended.'

Real life is not always a pretty Disney-inspired theme park. Life can be wonderful, and it can be cruel. Star Wars is not about Barney, Sesame Street, or Sponge Bob. Lucas is a master story-teller, and as we all know it's the good ones (whose stories are most like real life) that we most want to hear.

It's like, you know, work. Duh!

Wellllllllllllll... has anyone else been keeping up with the tabloid trash this week? The latest scandal to rip through Hollywood has the lovely and ever popular Paula "Cold Hearted Snake" Abdul, shacking up with a season 2 Idol competitor.

Now, the news is going crazy, the ACLU is mobilizing, SKYLAB IS FALLING!!! HOLY CRAP! Grab your kids and move to the shelters people!

But really, who cares? Why is this any different than that dude on the 2nd floor at work dating some bimbo he met at the local drinking hole last night? It's life, it happens. This is why I'm sick of Hollywood - Ironically, too much D-R-A-M-A...

Has it already been a year?

After lunch snooze time. What a weekend this last one was. Had our company retreat and the usual party that goes along with it, a much heralded softball game Saturday morning, in which the 4-0 ABPG Newshounds rallied in the bottom of the 7th to win. I was afforded a soccer game Sunday that saw a hat trick and a 7-0 victory as well. But most importantly it was our one year wedding anniversary.

I think that we have been through so much this last year. We have had one blow to the system after another. Family crisis, unemployment, uncertainty and we have emerged on top. I have to say, that without my wife it would have been nearly impossible to cope with the run of what we've had to endure. We have emerged stronger, and better people, and more in love.

Baby, I know you don't read my blog, but I love you!
